Solo trip to Chikmagalur from Bangalore on Suzuki Access 125cc
Day 1: Bangalore to Chikmagalur
Started on the weekend ie., Saturday morning at 5:26 AM on my Suzuki Access 125 CC towards Chikmagalur. Planned to cover temples on the go before reaching Chikmagalur.
The first destination is Shravanabelagola temple which is at 170 Kms from the start. You will encounter a 58.8-foot high monolithic Gommateshwara statue(bahubali) on the top of the hill.
The second destination on Day 1 is Halebeedu Hoysaleswara Temple. The impeccable stunning architecture surely surprises you. Hire a guide to know better about the temple.
The third destination of Day 1 is Belur Chennakeshava Temple.
Reached Chikmagalur at 2:30 PM. The weather was welcoming throughout the journey.
Checked-in a hotel and relaxed for a couple of hours. I am not here to relax right? Went to the man-made Hirekolale lake in the evening at 5:30 which is around 12 Kms from my stay
Came back to my stay and ordered biryani from Taj hotel which was good after the tiresome day.
Day 2: Sitalayyanagari, Mullayangiri, Baba Budangiri, Siri Coffee, Town Canteen, MG Park
Started 6 AM in the morning to Sitalayyanagiri and Mullayangiri Peak.
Went on to ride on my scooter till Baba Budangiri.
On my way back went to Siri Coffee at around 2 PM and the famous Town Canteen for having butter masala dosa which tasted just Okay.
After the lunch at Town Canteen, went back to my stay to relax for a couple of hours. At 5 PM, started to explore the town. Went to MG Children's park
MG Park is pure entertainment for the kids and lovers — others avoid it.
After a quick look at the entire park, I decided to go to Hirekolale lake for the second time to feel the atmosphere around the lake. It is so pleasant and calm.
While returning went to RR Donne Biryani, near Bus Station — took the CB parcel and returned to the stay. It was just okay (3/5).
Day 3: Coffee Museum and an unmotivated return trip to the nest
Coffee Museum - strangely closed on Sat and Sun and it opens 10 AM from Mon to Friday.
Woke up late at 9 AM and got ready to visit Coffee Museum. I was there at the coffee museum exactly at 9:57 AM after having Idly, Vada and Sambar at Town Canteen. I am the only visitor and no employee has arrived at Coffee Museum. After waiting for 30 mins, an employee has come to give directions to look around the museum. It looks like a central Government job and no one bothers to attract visitors. The museum is very neat, good, and informative.
Back to my stay and started to Bengaluru by 11:30 AM. Return journeys are really painful and unmotivated. From Nelamangala, rain has stopped. I was prepared for it. Reach home by 5:30 PM.
